WESE
is very proud this year to be gracing both the interior and the
exterior of Benaroya Hall, the outdoor landings of the Seattle Art
Museum and all along the Harbor Steps leading down to the Seattle
Waterfront. This unique showcase for established and emerging local,
regional and national sculptors highlights both the work and the
settings. Three of the region's outstanding art professionals makeup
this year's WESE jury: Michael Darling, the Jon and Mary Shirley
Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art; Greg Robinson, the Executive
Director of the Museum of Northwest Art; and Barbara Shaiman, the
Director of Seattle Art Museum's Rental Sales Gallery. The sculptors
chosen display a versatility and range of art that is accessible and
enjoyable for everyone. The 2007 West Edge Sculpture Exhibition
includes First Thursday Artist Mingles at the Pike Brewing Company; the
Sienna Architecture Artist Lecture Series; and a special Labor Day
Monday Family Sculpture Event sponsored by Equity Residential. There
will also be the publication of the 2007 WESE color catalog of the
artists and their work.
